Yes this section covers the course that I am doing i.e. BSc (Hons) Software Engineering. The following sections cover some of the most interesting stuff that has happend and can be made to happen within the confines of this course.
HOT Topics - Programming Languages and Web Based Systems.
So there you have it thats the langauges that you are currently expected to dabble with. Does it sound like alot, well perhaps it is but unless you put the work you will probably never even learn the syntax in the lession time you have one this.
I would very much recomend you make use of some of my programming links and also the free pinting/net access that you will most likley to have to grab this stuff and make use of it.
Concintrate and uphold the true faith and you will be rewarded by massive salries when it all takes of, which is no bad thing. And if it does not go throguh the roof then, we can allways make our ££££'s writing ANSI and getting Micro$ofties to write the bloat to bring down HD prices.
Ok so i can see that this stuff may well become more relivant as i progress through the course. And suppose that i will come to apprieate that i have done this but right now it seems damn right silly. Ok correct me if i am wrong but this is a software engineering course, all this stuff just strikes me as catering for dumb (like business) people.
What some of this stuff is, is hard, spesificly Z noteation and the maths stuff, we did a cut down degree level maths course, without going into any of the detail (thank god). This is good overall cos it killed of some of the slackers on the course and makes me look better.
Yes thats right some business crap, what the hell is the world comming to, ough well i suppose is worth it when you consider the benifs of doing computing at university, 100% free Internet access, so for all those late night IRC sessions and flame wars against Team OS2. Foutunatly we are not going to become MCBD's "Micro$oft Certified Brain Dead" programmers.
This stuff is the really wacky, far out crap that i pushed myself through. Dont mock me i really did do a spelling test !!, honist. I really, really fail to see the relivance of this rubbish, (i know i cant spell and dont need to be reminded). Ok so we have to have some kind of business awareness, but i have a top 10% IQ, this is not a problem, or is it the very core of the problem ?.
Now lets all sing in chours, "we all hate windows, 9.x is slow and Nt is broke", oug the fun we have. Well no cos we have to use this stuff.
Yes the first thing that we did was start to talk about just how crap, 98/NT are, in comparision to Intuition and MacOS, Linux. The second thing that we did was of coure to start hacking the 'wet paper bag' type security that surronds the system. I mean for heavens sake, MS are recnowned for leaving more holes in the NT security than a swiss chesse at the OK corale. -Update 1999- Well yes SP5 was broken and MS said that they are only doing bugfxing now, but hey we all have fun crashing the explorer and then waiting for it to re-load with the security turned off.
Well, first and foremost begginners courses, why the hell are we made to do elementry world processor / spreadsheet / database / web design, i mean it takes the piss, luck for us its only for a few weks and i can continue to hack the computers...
Read whatever you want into this but take note,.. we were required to make a web site as part of our business course,.. i did not attend one of the tutorials (on WWW design) and got 100% mark,.. this is probably cos i can code HTML (never..!) but the point is that i was treated like i could not, our teacher even admitted that she was really an AI teacher..!!
